Introducing the topic, Conor McGinn MP gave the following statement:
"I'm delighted to have worked with one of my constituents to secure a Westminster Hall debate at 11:00 on Tuesday on Tourette's syndrome.
"This is an important opportunity to focus on how a lack of provision for diagnosing, treating and researching Tourette's is impacting people in my constituency and right across the country.
"Tourette's affects the life quality of many people in the UK, who often struggle to get a diagnosis, a referral or to receive any wider care.
"I think it's important that that more is done to help children and families access the specialist, and local, Tourette's and tics services they need."
How it works
What is a Westminster Hall Debate?
Westminster Hall debates take place in the Grand Committee Room in the House of Commons.
They give MPs an opportunity to raise local or national issues and receive a response from a government minister.
Debates in Westminster Hall take place on ‘general debate' motions expressed in neutral terms. These motions are worded ‘That this House has considered [a specific matter]'.
