Speaker of the House of Commons: A look back at the past week

Last Monday, the Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle attended the funeral service of friend and colleague, Jack Dromey MP.
In the Chamber on Monday, the Speaker chaired a statement made by the Prime Minister on the Sue Gray report.
On Wednesday, the Speaker chaired Prime Minister's Questions, as well as tributes to Jack Dromey MP in the House of Commons Chamber.

Funeral service for Jack Dromey MP
Today we said goodbye to our good friend and colleague, Jack Dromey MP. At his heart he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather – so all our thoughts go to Harriet and the rest of the family at this very sad time.

LGBT+ History Month
Tuesday 1 February marked LGBT+ History Month - an annual celebration that provides education and insight into the issues that the LGBT+ community faces.
Previously to celebrate LGBT+ History Month, the Speaker spoke to Deputy Speaker, Nigel Evans where he talked about coming out as a gay MP, and how Parliament has changed for the LGBT+ community over the years. You can listen again here.
